Building BomjoPay: Where We Are, and What’s Next

Money shouldn’t be complicated just because it crosses a border or changes currency. Here’s where that idea actually stands.

We started BomjoPay with a simple idea: money shouldn’t be complicated just because it crosses a border or changes currency. It should feel as easy as sending a message.

Today we want to open up and share where that idea actually stands, because building in the open is something we care about, and because you’re the reason we’re building it in the first place.

What we’re building

BomjoPay is a multi-currency digital wallet, one place to hold, send, and receive money, without juggling separate apps for separate currencies. We’re a technology company at heart: we build the product experience, while regulated, licensed financial institutions handle the underlying movement and safekeeping of funds. That split means you get a modern, unified experience, backed by the same safeguards you’d expect from any serious financial provider.

Long term, our ambition is bigger than a wallet. We want BomjoPay to grow into a full next-generation neobank, everything a traditional bank can offer, rebuilt for a world where people work, save, and send money across more than one currency without thinking twice about it.

How building has gone so far

It’s been a busy few months. Some of what’s happened behind the scenes:

  • Our team has grown. We’re now a founding team of four, covering product, engineering, operations, and compliance, each person fully in place and building.
  • The core wallet is taking shape. The underlying infrastructure, the ledger, the account architecture, the pieces that let your balance move safely and accurately, is in active development.
  • We formalized how we protect your money. More on that below.
  • We’re laying groundwork beyond our first market. We’ve started the corporate process to expand into a second market, so BomjoPay can grow with the people who need it, wherever they are.

None of this happens overnight, and we’d rather move carefully and tell you the truth about our stage than overpromise. So here’s the honest picture: we are pre-launch, building deliberately, and further along than we were even a month ago.

A trust milestone worth sharing

Trust isn’t something we’re bolting on later. It’s the foundation the whole product sits on, so this milestone matters to us as much as any feature.

We’ve now formally designated dedicated compliance leadership within the company, with clear, written responsibility for anti-money-laundering oversight and regulatory compliance. Alongside that, we’re finalizing our compliance policy, grounded in the laws that actually govern how financial platforms in our space are expected to operate.

In practical terms, that means: your funds are never mixed with company funds, our records are checked against what our partners hold on an ongoing basis, and every internal movement of money runs through the same logged, audited process as any transaction you’d make. It’s not the flashiest update, but it’s the one we’re proudest of.

The waitlist is open

If you’ve been waiting to hear when you can get in, this is that update: the BomjoPay waitlist is officially open.

Joining now means you’ll be among the first to know as we move closer to launch, and you’ll get a real look behind the curtain along the way, not just a countdown. Sign up on the website, and you’ll get a welcome note from us right away, followed by a bit more on what to expect next.

What to expect from here

A few things are coming up as we keep building:

  • Card issuance — virtual and physical cards are coming soon, so you can spend directly from your BomjoPay balance.
  • Wider coverage — we’re working to bring more currencies and more markets into the wallet over time.
  • More updates like this one — we’d rather tell you what’s real, as it happens, than go quiet and reappear with a big launch announcement.

Thanks for being early. Thanks for being patient. We’re building something we’re genuinely excited to hand to you, and we’re glad you’re here for the version of BomjoPay that exists before the finished one does.
